Privacy policy

Invitation content you enter: names, family names, dates, times, venues and their addresses, your story, FAQs, travel details, places nearby, and the photos and music you upload.

We do not ask you to create an account or a password. Each published invitation has a private edit link that only you receive.

Basic usage information: how many times an invitation was opened — a simple count, not who opened it.

When you publish, we ask for your mobile number so we can send you your private edit link by WhatsApp or SMS. It is also used to tell you when an ended invitation is renewed.

Your number is stored privately with your invitation and is never shown on it. These messages are sent through Twilio.

When guests reply they may give their name, how many are coming, whether they can come, which side they are from, a message, and optionally a WhatsApp number for reminders.

Guest phone numbers are visible only to the invitation's owner, in the private guest list. They are never shown on the public invitation.

Messages from guests who accept may appear on the invitation's blessings wall. Photos guests upload appear in its shared guest gallery.

To show your invitation to the people you share it with, record replies, let you manage your guest list, and send you your edit link.

To keep the service safe — for example, limiting repeated submissions from the same device. For this, IP addresses are kept briefly in memory and not stored.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

If you search for your venue on the map, the words you type are sent from our server to OpenStreetMap to find it, and the venue's map position is sent to Wikipedia and Wikidata to suggest airports, stations and places nearby. Nothing about you is sent with them.

A venue you pin is saved with its map position so guests can get directions. Their Directions button opens Google Maps, which asks for their own location under Google's privacy policy — we never see it.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure checkout and never reach our servers.

We keep only the payment and order IDs needed to confirm your purchase, prevent misuse, and help with any issue or refund.

Only the service providers that run InviteForYou, each for its own part: Google Firebase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Razorpay (payments), Twilio (WhatsApp and SMS messages to you), and OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia and Wikidata (map search and nearby places, as above).

We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We never sell or rent it to anyone.

Invitations, replies and uploaded files are stored with Google Firebase; the website is hosted on Vercel. Some of these providers may store data outside India.

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Only our servers can read the database; nobody can change your invitation or replace its photos without your edit link.

Published invitations and their photos can be seen by anyone who has the link — please share it only with the people you invite.

A published invitation stays live until 10 days after its event date. After that it is kept, read-only, so you can renew it — until you ask us to delete it.

Invitations saved but never paid for may be deleted. Payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require.

We use a few functional cookies and browser storage: your language, theme and motion preferences, an unsaved draft of the invitation you are creating (kept only on your device), and a note that you have already seen an invitation's opening so it does not replay on every visit.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

If you write to us by email, WhatsApp or SMS, your message reaches us through that service and its own privacy terms apply. We use what you send only to help you, and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Please never send us card numbers, OTPs or passwords — we will never ask for them.

You can change or remove invitation content at any time with your edit link.

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information — including deleting a published invitation with its replies and photos — or withdraw consent, by contacting us with your invitation link. You may also nominate someone to act for you.

Guests who want their reply, message or phone number removed can ask the couple, or write to us directly.

InviteForYou is meant to be used by adults. Invitations for a child's celebration (like a naming ceremony or birthday) are created by their parents or guardians, who decide what to include.

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown on the site.
